I usually don’t write reviews online, but I feel like I should this time.This company’s hiring process was beyond frustrating and completely exhausting. It requires an excessive amount of unpaid effort from candidates ; endless tasks, multiple tests, and intrusive assessments that feel invasive and unnecessary ; only to end up offering zero transparency, respect, or meaningful communication in return.After investing significant time and energy completing everything required, candidates are met with silence, vague responses, or outright ghosting. There is no proper feedback, no accountability, and no consideration for the effort put in. It genuinely feels like candidates are being used for free work under the guise of “evaluation,” which is both unprofessional and deeply discouraging.The entire experience is disorganized, draining, and disrespectful from start to finish. It gives a strong impression that applicants’ time, effort, and dignity are not valued at all.People should be very cautious;honestly, beware and avoid this company’s hiring process if you value your time and mental energy. It is simply not worth the stress or frustration.

We’ve been working with Smith.ai for quite some time now, and I can say without hesitation that the reputation they’ve built is well earned.Hannah, Jose, and their entire team consistently operate at a very high level. They are flexible when situations change, professional in every interaction, and genuinely engaging with our clients. What stands out most is their depth of knowledge and their diligence. They don’t just answer calls, they take ownership of the interaction and represent our business the right way.There’s a lot of hype in this space, but in this case it’s not fluff. Gave me a number on a spam list and charged me for it

This platform is a good idea in theory, but the customer support is terrible. They assigned me a phone number that was already on a spam call list, resulting in 100+ spam calls per month. Despite me complaining for two months straight and threatening to cancel, they told me there was nothing they could do — and still planned to charge me for the call overages I racked up because of their mistake. The fix was simple: change my phone number. Instead, they just marked the calls as spam and kept the charges. I'm trying to cancel my account but they are making it extremely difficult and I will be disputing these charges with my bank.

AMAZING! You won't regret it!

Really hard to cancel

The AI receptionist transfers calls to live agents without my consent which will raise my bill. Does not save settings. Super dishonest business. Cannot cancel. They make you email to request cancellation!! I had to dig for their phone number only to talk to a receptionist who can't cancel for me! Now I have to wait for a call and hopefully they will cancel. Never again! If you need an AI receptionist look elsewhere.

I’m really happy with smith.ai! I switched from a different answering service and honestly, there’s no comparison. all the calls are transparent and you can see exactly what is going on and listen to the calls. Also they block all spam and sales calls at no charge and only charge for real business calls.

Lack of integrity and honesty

We worked with Smith.ai for most of 2025. At first, we enjoyed the support from the live answering service. Unfortunately, the only time I heard from anyone at Smith.ai was when a member called me to upgrade my plan. I told the representative we did not need the extra call volume and he assured me that it would only work out in our favor by changing our plan. Fast forward 4 months later and I realized we were over paying by more than $700 / month. I called the support team (not easy to get someone) and explained the entire situation. The representative was polite and assured me that she would be in touch soon with a resolution. Never heard from her so I called the following week and got a gentleman on the phone this time. He had no record of the lengthy call I had previously had with the female rep. With no resolution I decided it was time to part ways with this dishonest company. Over 5 months they ripped us off for over $3,000. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE DID BY HIRING THIS COMPANY!Just read your dishonest reply. If you would listen to the recorded call from May that is not how the conversation went. Also, in November why would you not adjust the plan after I called and asked. That phone call did not exist the next time I had to track down a support person. You need to look at your operations more closely and the dishonest that is being sold to clients. Shame on you.
